WebberZone April 2026 update
Date: 16 May 2026
Hi Reader ๐,
This update is three days overdue. However, as the saying goes, "Better late than never."
April was quieter in volume than March, but it kept moving. Four releases shipped this cycle: two Link Warnings updates, a new plugin, and a major update to Better Search Pro.
I will release Knowledge Base v3.0.0, including a new pro version, later this week. I delayed the release as I was busy with work and needed to add a few new features.
Link Warnings v1.2.0 (14 April 2026) and v1.3.0 (1 May 2026)
v1.2.0 adds force-external CSS classes for links that bypass automatic detection, makes all class names configurable, and patches an open-redirect vulnerability in the redirect endpoint with HMAC-signed URLs. v1.3.0 adds a JavaScript scan that runs after page load, extending the same warning rules to navigation menus, footers, sidebars, and other theme output that PHP never touches.
Code Block Highlighting v1.0.0 (3 May 2026)
This plugin was available on GitHub while I waited for approval on WordPress.org. Code Block Highlighting adds Prism.js syntax highlighting to the native WordPress Code block without replacing it, so your existing content stays valid. Per-block controls for language, line numbers, word wrap, and line highlighting sit in the block sidebar. 21 themes, 40 languages, and assets that only load on pages that contain code blocks. I've been running it on WebberZone.com for a while.
Better Search Pro v4.3.0 (3 May 2026)
WP-CLI support under the bsearch command, a network admin dashboard for multisite, click-through drill-down on the daily searches chart, and a scheduled cron that automatically reconciles the custom search index. The free version includes support for the ACF Image field and several bug fixes.
What's next
Knowledge Base v3.0.0 is coming later this week. I added new features to it after the initial planned release, which pushed the date. I'll share the details in the announcement post.
Thanks for running my plugins. If you find a bug or have a feature request, open an issue on GitHub or post in the support forums. And if a plugin saves you time, a review on the plugin page genuinely helps other site owners find it.
Best regards,
P.S. Have questions? I am always happy to help!
